It was a great day just meandering about.
There was this amazing portraits fence.
I did also see a "unicorn" but I was too shy to get my picture taken with it. That's something I'm not going to let happen again!

I recently had one of my library hops which brings me a lot of joy. You can read about my bookish travels here.
One of my stops was in Scappoose where I stopped by one of the parks there.
McCormick Park had exercise stations throughout. The last time I'd seen those was when I was a kid in South San Francisco. It was like a blast from the past.
The park also had a Story Stroll- or a Story Walk- which I always enjoy stumbling upon. You can check the entire story on my other blog.
This entry is a combination of two previous whimsy and wonder entries. The first is the art of Mike Bennett, which I've mentioned many times this year, and the second is the Morrison Street Minigallery.
The mini-gallery's latest exhibit is Mike Bennett's A to Zoo.
I was one of the many people who got to see it "in real life" last May. It was such a fun and creative way to brighten people's lives when the bleakness of the pandemic was just beginning.
I had an impromptu Artist Date- a Stafford stroll through Lake Oswego where the poet clearly left a lasting legacy.
The Lake Oswego Library was designated a literary landmark in his honor.
The Kincaid Curlicue Corridor leads to the William Stafford Pathway in Foothill Parks where the Stafford Stones are erected.
One of his poems is also on a column in the city center for all to discover and read.
Back in Portland, I visited another labyrinth.
On my last day visiting family, I also got to check out Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains, an art installation just outside of Vegas.
I was able to go to Las Vegas to see my brothers and sisters.
My first day there, I had some time to kill and I was able to have a lovely time visiting a bookstore and seeing some art- definitely not your typical Las Vegas activities.
My first stop after my plane landed was to visit The Writer’s Block. I hadn’t been there since my last Vegas trip in 2018 and they had just relocated in 2019 so it was like visiting a whole new store. And it was as exciting as the first time.
The front of store is their coffee shop. I enjoyed the bird cage theme to go along with their Artificial Bird Sanctuary.
One of things I wanted to visit was the secret art installation- James Turrell’s Akhob in the City Center- but I needed to make a reservation a couple months in advance according to the website. Luckily, he did have another installation- Shards of Color- at the Shop at Crystals so I was able to sort of get my fix that way.
It was nice to see another Maya Lin artwork. “Silver River” is an art installation hanging above the front desk area of Aria’s lobby.
I was also impressed by Bellagio’s Botanical Gardens.
