Whimsy and Wonder #39- Pride Pop

June is Pride Month. One of the things I tend to do to "celebrate" is try as many rainbow foods as possible.

Kulfi PDX had a Pride Pop and a portion of each one sold benefited Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC). So, naturally, I had to try one!

Whimsy and Wonder #38- A Bookish Treat

Well, I thought I was doing so well resisting going to Salt & Straw to try their Rad Readers flavors but I gave in. It just seemed such a bookish thing to do for a kidlit booklover like me to do! Very on brand, as they say.

I thought I was going to get the Amulet-inspired flavor but at the last minute got the Goosebumps one instead. I wish they were doing samples so I could have tried all five because hopefully this will be the last time I'll be spending money on ice cream.

I'll always remember going to a bookstore mid-month of every month to read the latest installment. I highly recommend reading at least the first two dozen books of the original series. I'll always be grateful for R. L. Stine's Goosebumps which led me to his Fear Street series and then to one of my favorite authors Christopher Pike.

Whimsy and Wonder #37- Just Walking Around (Eleven)

I was just walking around when I ran across these fun trees in which you can find hidden objects! What a fun idea!

Apparently, this was put up #ForTheLoveOfOtis which is an initiative to spread kindness that a mother started in memory of her son who died at a young age. What a lovely tribute!

Whimsy and Wonder #36- Labyrinths

I'm fascinated with labyrinths, which for the longest time I only thought of as a complicated maze but the ones I'm talking about are the ones that are used more for walking meditations. You do follow a circuitous route to the center and basically retrace your steps. And, of course, with my completist mindset, I found a website that lists their locations and so I've been going to as many labyrinths near me. I found two today.

The first one was in a school playground.

The second was in someone's front yard. I hope I wasn't trespassing on their property!
